Water is an increasingly precious resource, and MJ Abbott are experts in water management. We can provide solutions for water storage, rainwater harvesting, stormwater attenuation, water distribution and water treatment.
Water conservation & water management
Water conservation has become an important issue in the UK, and there is pressure to demonstrate that water is being used efficiently and responsibly. Collecting excess water during wet periods for use in drier times is now an economically viable proposition in many situations.
MJ Abbott can assist in the design and installation of systems to collect surface water runoff and excess groundwater, channelling this into piped drainage systems feeding into water storage reservoirs.
Reservoir construction & refurbishment
We provide a full design and construction service for both above and below ground reservoirs for potable and non-potable use, ranging from polyethylene tanks of 1,000 litres through precast concrete tanks holding in excess of 300m³ to lined open reservoirs for irrigation water storage.
We also provide reservoir refurbishment services which help prolong the life of existing structures and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Rainwater harvesting & stormwater attenuation
MJ Abbott offers a wide range of rainwater harvesting systems for commercial and domestic applications. We can supply only or provide a full design and installation service.
We can also assist in the design and installation of stormwater attenuation systems such as underground crate systems and flow control valves to regulate the rate of discharge into drainage outfalls and watercourses to prevent flooding in storm conditions.
Water distribution systems & water treatment
We design, manufacture and install pumping systems and water distribution networks for many applications. We retain our own electrical and fabrication engineers for the in-house manufacture of packaged pump stations and associated electrical control systems. We have a fleet of specialised machinery for the installation of water distribution pipes.
We offer a range of water treatment systems for disinfection, water softening, nitrate and iron removal and pH correction.
