Civil engineering
Over many years, MJ Abbott has built up extensive experience in specialised civil engineering works for a wide range of customers and applications. We are experts in all types of groundworks and the installation of utility services and sewage systems.
Civil engineering & groundworks
With an unparalleled fleet of specialist machinery, experienced project managers and highly skilled in-house personnel, MJ Abbott offers a number of specialised civil engineering services: infrastructure works; storm water drainage and attenuation; rainwater harvesting, storage and re-use; ground dewatering, trench support and excavation stabilisation; concrete formwork, bases and below ground tank and reservoir construction; roadways sub-base construction and tarmac surfacing; car park construction; and kerbing and paving.
Utility installation & trenching
We are able to install underground services by a number of methods utilising our specialist machinery and equipment: vibrating or non-tension mole ploughs and open trenching by chain trencher, spinning wheel trencher or excavator, depending on the ground conditions and requirements for reinstatement. We can install electric cable, water mains, foul drainage, storm drainage, and ducting for telecommunications.
For road crossings, we have impact moling machines which enable installation of a duct for pipes or cables without disturbing the road surface. Our engineers have the necessary Streetworks Operator and Supervisor qualifications for carrying out works in or across the public highway.
Agricultural civil engineering
MJ Abbott has deep roots in agriculture, and we offer a number of civil engineering services to our customers in the agricultural sector: design and construction of slurry stores and systems for management of farm waste; site excavations and groundworks for grain stores and other structures; and construction and renovation of farm roads and tracks.
Wastewater & sewage treatment
We offer a full range of solutions for sewage and wastewater handling, and sewage treatment.
