This gallery contains short films and video clips of some of our projects.

• Vidauban Golf Club, France

  This short film was made using a drone while MJ Abbott was carrying out extensive golf course refurbishment works at the exclusive, privately owned Vidauban Golf Club in the French Riviera. The film shows our laser-controlled rock wheel installing lateral primary drainage, installing drainage on new practice range tees using a 360° excavator, backfilling and tidying irrigation trenches using a mini excavator with a specially fabricated attachment and a mini tractor with a bucket brush, preparing the surface of a new practice putting green with a bunker rake and drag mat and turfing the green surrounds, levelling tee surfaces with a 360° excavator with Engcon swivel attachment, and some fantastic aerial footage of this dramatic and photogenic golf course.

   

• Tavistock Short Game Area, Woburn Golf Club

  Designed by former Ryder Cup player Manuel Piñero with his team at Target Golf and constructed by MJ Abbott, the Tavistock Short Game Area is a world class short game practice facility located in the pines and modelled on the Woburn courses. The design allows a vast variance of shots up to 90 yards, incorporating pitching, chipping and bunker play, and allowing multiple users of all standards of golfing ability. This time lapse video shows the construction of facility which took just 60 days.

   

• Royal Wimbledon Golf Club

  This short film was made during our works to reconstruct the 1st and 18th holes at Royal Wimbledon Golf Club. The construction processes shown include shaping using a laser-controlled excavator with an Engcon attachment, installing drainage using a mini excavator, levelling tee surfaces, and turfing using both big roll and standard size turves.

   

• Broadstone Golf Club, Dorset

  This short film shows some of the processes involved in installing an irrigation system at Broadstone Golf Club. These include moling lateral pipe and control cable around a green using a vibrating mole plough, moling mains pipe and control cable in the rough alongside a fairway, electrofusion welding to install a tee in the mains pipe, and installing and wiring a valve-in-head sprinkler.

   

• The Celtic Manor Resort

  This short film was made while MJ Abbott was constructing the Twenty Ten Ryder Cup Course at the Celtic Manor Resort. The film shows our laser-controlled rock wheel installing lateral primary drainage, installing a rootzone topping over the primary drains prior to replacement of the topsoil between them, trimming and resoiling using a bulldozer, rootzone placement on a new green, final grading of a green, primary drainage installation using our chain trencher, and the irrigation system operating on the completed holes.

   

• Les Aisses Golf, Orleans, France

  MJ Abbott carried out two phases of work in consecutive years to reconstruct the existing Red and White 9 hole courses at Les Aisses to form one championship standard 18 hole golf course. When the work was completed, the owner arranged for this film to be shot from from a microlight aircraft, showing a fly-over of each of the 18 holes.
