The Renaissance Club, East Lothian, Scotland

MJ Abbott were awarded the contract to install the irrigation system during the construction of the golf course at The Renaissance Club, East Lothian, following a tender and interview process. The irrigation system design and tender process was undertaken by Giles Wardle of Irriplan.

The scope of work included:

• 90m³/hr pump station designed and manufactured by MJ Abbott
• Fabrication and installation of new timber pumphouse
• 500m³ capacity Vulcan water storage tank complete with borehole transfer pipework and control system
• Installation of mainlines pipework and irrigation to greens, greens surrounds, approaches, fairways, walkways and tees
• The system utilises Rain Bird irrigation equipment
• The system includes the Rain Bird Nimbus 2 control system and radio remote control.

MJ Abbott continues to maintain the irrigation system.
