Stevenage Football Club, Hertfordshire

MJ Abbott were contracted direct with Stevenage Football Club to design and install a fully automatic irrigation system to the pitch at the Lamex Stadium.

The system took one week to install during the club's end of season renovation period.

The project scope of works included:

• New water storage tank, pump station and pumphouse
• Rain Bird valve in head sprinklers around the pitch perimeter and block sprinklers in the centre operating from electric solenoid valves located off the playing surface
• Sprinklers in centre of pitch feature turf cups
• The system operates from Rain Bird ESP-LXD decoder controller
• All pipework was installed via the moleplough method.
