Royal Cromer Golf Club, Norfolk

MJ Abbott secured the contract to install a new irrigation system at Royal Cromer Golf Club following a competitive tender and interview process. The irrigation system design and tender process was undertaken by Adrian Mortram of Robin Hume Associates.

The scope of work included:

• Installation of 180m³ capacity Vulcan water storage tank and borehole water supply
• 30m³/hr pump station designed and fabricated by MJ Abbott
• Installation of mainlines pipework and replacement irrigation to greens, approaches, greens surrounds, selected fairway areas and tees
• The system utilises Toro irrigation equipment
• The system includes for Toro GDC Site Pro control system, weather station and radio remote control.

John Chapman, Vice Captain of Royal Cromer Golf Club, commented: “The project went completely to plan. The installation of the new irrigation scheme across the whole course was handled with a minimum of disruption and all the works were very neat and tidy.
