Private Client, Wiltshire

MJ Abbott were awarded the contract to construct an ornamental pond for a private client in rural Wiltshire, to a design drawn up by the client's architect.

The scope of works comprised:

• Stripping the topsoil over the site area
• Excavation of the pond site
• Installation of a wet well and under drainage to prevent the pond liner from floating
• Installation of the pond liner and underlay, secured using a key trench around the perimeter of the pond
• Installation of pond overflow pipe
• Installation of a mains water connection and float valve for topping up the pond
• Installation of foundations for decking to be installed by others
• Topsoil replacement to the pond surround and landscaped areas
• Turfing, grass and wild flower seeding to complete the project.

Our client was very happy with the finished result, which has enhanced his property.
