Private Client, Bath, Somerset
Installation of Rewatec Solido sewage treatment plant
The client contacted MJ Abbott to investigate his existing septic tank which was partially above ground and weeping fluids through cracks in the wall.
Following a through assessment of the client's requirements and the site, MJ Abbott recommended a Rewatec Solido sewage treatment plant to replace the failed septic tank, with a gravity discharge from the new plant to an existing stormwater drain.
The site was particularly challenging in terms of difficult access coupled with a steep slope. The excavation was carried out using 1.5 tonne mini excavators, and the spoils were hauled out using motorised wheelbarrows, which were also used to wheel in the ready-mixed concrete used as a surround for the sewage treatment plant.
The project scope of work comprised:
- Topsoil strip, setting aside turf for re-use
- Excavation of hole for installation
- Installation of Rewatec Solido sewage treatment plant, with surround of ready-mixed concrete
- Installation of gravity discharge outlet pipe to existing storm drain
- Backfill and turfing of site.
With a determined and enthusiastic team, the project was brought in on time and within budget, to the delight of our very happy client.
