The client contacted MJ Abbott to investigate his existing septic tank which was partially above ground and weeping fluids through cracks in the wall.  

Following a through assessment of the client's requirements and the site, MJ Abbott recommended a Rewatec Solido sewage treatment plant to replace the failed septic tank, with a gravity discharge from the new plant to an existing stormwater drain.

The site was particularly challenging in terms of difficult access coupled with a steep slope. The excavation was carried out using 1.5 tonne mini excavators, and the spoils were hauled out using motorised wheelbarrows, which were also used to wheel in the ready-mixed concrete used as a surround for the sewage treatment plant.

The project scope of work comprised:

• Topsoil strip, setting aside turf for re-use
• Excavation of hole for installation
• Installation of Rewatec Solido sewage treatment plant, with surround of ready-mixed concrete
• Installation of gravity discharge outlet pipe to existing storm drain
• Backfill and turfing of site.

With a determined and enthusiastic team, the project was brought in on time and within budget, to the delight of our very happy client.
