Prestwick Golf Club, Ayrshire, Scotland

MJ Abbott secured the contract to install a new irrigation system at Prestwick Golf Club following a tender and interview process. The irrigation system design and tender process was undertaken by Adrian Mortram of Robin Hume Associates.

The scope of work included:

• 63m³/hr pump station designed and manufactured by MJ Abbott
• Fabrication and installation of new timber pumphouse
• 150m³ capacity Vulcan water storage tank complete with Pow Burn water abstraction chamber, transfer pump and pipework
• Installation of mainlines pipework and replacement irrigation to greens, approaches, fairways, walkways and tees
• The system utilises Rain Bird irrigation equipment
• The system includes the Rain Bird Stratus 2 control system, weather station and radio remote control.

MJ Abbott continues to maintain the irrigation system.
