Award-winning builder and developer Millgate Homes required to implement a comprehensive landscaping scheme at a former industrial brickworks site to compliment the construction of a new 50,000 square feet private residence.

MJ Abbott were awarded the contract following submission of detailed design proposals and a competitive tender.  

The project required shaping of natural and formal lawnscapes. The scheme included for the extension and re-establishment of lakes and water features to enhance the 230 acre site. 

The project scope of works comprised:

• Cut and fill 20,000m³ of subsoil to create new landscape levels and tie in with existing lakes
• Decompact and trim all subsoil areas
• Spread imported topsoil to all construction areas
• Cultivate and seed topsoiled areas
• Reshape lake edges and re-align streams and ditches on the site 
• Construction of new carriage drive and service roads around site
• Installation of 1,500 linear metres of land drainage within lawn areas
• Installation of new electric cable and services ducting around the new development.
