Construction of sports facilities
The scope of work included for the construction of 4 no natural turf pitches and artificial facilities including football pitch, MUGA, high jump and long jump. MJ Abbott secured the contract following a successful tender submission with Cowlin Construction.
MJ Abbott carried out the following scope of works:
Natural Turf
- Trim 2 no subsoil plateaus to achieve design levels by the use of laser controlled dozer. Total area of plateau 25,000m²
- Primary drainage installation with laterals at 10 metres centres, secondary drainage in the form of forced sand slitting at 1 metre centres to the entire plateau
- Subsoil de-compaction, combination of topsoil re-spread and import & spread new topsoil to plateau, 400 tonnes of sand applied and ameliorated into the topsoil, cultivations and seeding
- Installation of manual irrigation system comprising new water storage tank, pump station, hydrants and provision of Speedy Rain Irrigator
- Carry out 2 year maintenance regime comprising sand banding, grass cutting, overseeding and topdressing.
Synthetic Facilities
- Construction of synthetic football pitch complete with provision of goals and nets
- Construction of MUGA, cricket wicket, long jump and high jump.
