Marina Developments, Berkshire

The marina at Monkey Island in Bray, Berkshire, was served by an old style septic tank which received the waste from the docked boats, on site canteen and the office. Hauling this waste off site was no longer economical so MJ Abbott submitted a proposal to install a new sewage pumping station to pump the effluent to an existing pump station before being pumped to the Thames Water sewer.

The project required:

• Installation of T-T Pumps dual pump sewage pumping station
• Installation of dual pump control panel within a new GRP control kiosk
• Installation of 300m of 110mm MDPE black pumping main
• Installation of additional gravity pipework to allow the effluent to gravitate to the existing site pumping station.

On successful completion and commissioning of the installation, the marina's tankering costs were hugely reduced. MJ Abbott were also awarded the service contracts for the new pumping station, the existing secondary pumping station on site and also the for the client's Windsor Marina site.
