Project summary
Reconstruction of a beautiful French heathland golf course
MJ Abbott carried out two phases of work in consecutive years to reconstruct the existing Red and White 9 hole courses at Les Aisses to form one championship standard 18 hole golf course. The design and specifications were prepared by renowned golf course architects Hawtree Ltd.
The project included for the following scope of work:
White Course reconstruction
- Reconstruction of greens, tees and 44 no bunkers
- Removal of cart paths
- Ditch clearance and installation of primary land drainage system
- Design and installation of new fully automatic irrigation system to all in-play areas.
Red course reconstruction
- Reconstruction of greens, tees and 58 no bunkers
- Construction of new putting and chipping green areas
- Extension to practice facilities and construction of new practice tee
- Construction of new turf nursery
- Remodelling of all lake edges
- Translocation of heather
- Removal of cart paths
- Ditch clearance and installation of primary land drainage system
- Design and installation of new fully automatic irrigation system to all in-play areas.
The owner, Alfred Seydoux, is very satisfied with the completed golf course.
