La Moye Golf Club, Jersey

La Moye Golf Club required the construction of a new reservoir for irrigation water storage and the installation of a new irrigation system. MJ Abbott negotiated the contract for the work directly with the Club via a successful design, pricing and interview process. The irrigation design was checked and the project managed for the Club by Adrian Mortram of Robin Hume Associates.

The scope of work included:

• Design, construction and lining of a new one million gallon reservoir complete with aeration system
• Transfer pipework and controls to 5 no existing boreholes
• Construction of new timber pumphouse
• 60m³/hr pump station designed and manufactured by MJ Abbott, complete with sand filter system
• Installation of new incoming mains electric supply
• Installation of mainlines pipework and replacement irrigation to greens, approaches, greens surrounds, fairways and tees
• The system utilises Rain Bird irrigation equipment
• The system includes Rain Bird Stratus 2 control system, weather station, radio remote control and Rain Bird lightning protection system.
