Hunstanton Golf Club, Norfolk

MJ Abbott secured the contract to upgrade the irrigation system at Hunstanton Golf Club following a tender and interview process. The irrigation design and tender process was undertaken by Adrian Mortram of Robin Hume Associates.

The scope of work included:

• Extension of borehole supplies and design and fabrication of a bespoke borehole control panel including an in-line salinity monitor
• Installation of additional mainlines pipework and cable where required to improve flows around the existing mainlines infrastructure
• Installation of replacement irrigation to greens, approaches, greens surrounds and selected new tees
• Replacement of existing fairway sprinklers for new product, including replacement pipework where necessary
• The system utilises Toro irrigation equipment
• The existing controller was retained and re-programmed to suit the upgraded system.

MJ Abbott continues to maintain the irrigation system.
