Reconstruction of cricket outfield at King George V Playing Fields
MJ Abbott successfully secured the project following a competitive tender process.
The scope of work included for the re-levelling of an existing cricket outfield complete with a new primary drainage system. The works were carried out in accordance with the specification produced by Dr Richard Earl of sports turf consultants TGMS Ltd.
MJ Abbott carried out the following scope of works:
- Removal of vegetation and topsoil from 6,000m² area
- Cut and fill of subsoil to create designed levels
- Replacement of topsoil and tie-ins to existing cricket square and boundary
- Installation of primary and secondary drainage
- Cultivation and seeding
- Installation of goal sockets.
MJ Abbott were also contracted to carry out maintenance for the first 12 months following completion of the works.
