National Apprenticeship Week 2022

In partnership with colleges in Wiltshire, Hampshire and Somerset we’re widening our apprenticeship scheme and currently recruiting for electrical, water engineering and IT apprentices.

Jack Maidment - Achieved NVQ Level 2 Diploma Water Process Engineering
I love the variety in my job - one day we could be working on a borehole, the next trenching pipe in. I’m a very hands-on person so it really suits me. During my apprenticeship I studied in 2 week blocks and was then able to put this into practice straight away. It was also very attractive to earn while I learned!

Aiden Mann - Studying NVQ Level 3 Diploma Installing Electrotechnical Systems & Equipment Apprenticeship
The first thing that caught my eye was the fact that this is mainly an apprenticeship that is in an outdoors environment which I prefer compared to basic domestic apprenticeships. I mostly enjoy the variety of tasks that are given to me, one day I could be servicing a water filter then the next I could be in a boat in the middle of a lake installing a pond aerator. No day is ever the same and it doesn’t get boring.

Olie Racey - Studying Level 3 Geospatial Survey Technician Apprenticeship
It’s great to be able to learn more about the theory behind the principles of the techniques we apply, which also helps me understand the benefits of the equipment we use. I previously followed a slightly different career path, but I’m really pleased to be retraining in the career I originally wanted to follow when I was younger.

Adam Krajewski - Achieved NVQ Level 3 Diploma Installing Electrotechnical Systems
I took the opportunity to work for MJ Abbott because an apprenticeship is a good way of developing practical skills, knowledge and gaining a qualification at the same time. I’ve enjoyed the variety of work and learning from the best. Now that I’m qualified, I'm determined to keep progressing and gaining a wider range of skills.
