MJ Abbott to feature in BBC TV documentary about the drought

Filming on site in North Dorset

MJ Abbott was approached in April by the BBC to assist with a documentary about the drought conditions affecting much of the UK, scheduled to be broadcast in Autumn 2012. The documentary will be shown on BBC One's regional Inside Out programme, covering drought and ground water abstraction.

MJ Abbott have been exceptionally busy since the turn of the year, drilling new boreholes for ground water abstraction and deepening existing water sources to safeguard the water supplies of many of our customers.

The BBC visited one of our sites in North Dorset to film the drilling of a 50m deep domestic borehole through the chalk downland. MJ Abbott's Contracts Manager, Adrian Riggs, gave a piece to camera to explain the process of drilling and construction methods and the likelihood of finding ground water.

We will provide updates on this web site and via our Twitter feed when we are informed this programme is to be broadcast.
