MJ Abbott starts busy autumn irrigation installation programme

It is not unusual for MJ Abbott to run several large irrigation system installation projects concurrently, and the 2012 autumn season is no exception with projects starting in South Wales, Essex and the West Midlands.

At the prestigious Royal Porthcawl Golf Club in South Wales, MJ Abbott will be installing a new storage tank, mainlines, solenoid valves to fairways and tees, isolation valves to greens, and replacement cabling to existing greens sprinklers, as well as a new Toro Lynx control system.

Across in Essex MJ Abbott will be installing a complete new Rain Bird irrigation system at Thorpe Hall Golf Club in Southend-on-Sea, comprising a new Vulcan storage tank, timber pumphouse, bespoke MJ Abbott pump station, mainlines, laterals, valves, sprinklers and control system to greens and tees.

Rain Bird was also selected as the equipment manufacturer by Copt Heath Golf Club in Solihull in the West Midlands. Here MJ Abbott will be carrying out Phase 2 of a system replacement project started in 2011, when the irrigation to the greens and tees was replaced. In 2012 MJ Abbott will be replacing the storage tank, pump house, pump station, mainlines and fairways irrigation.
