MJ Abbott kicks off busy autumn irrigation installation programme

It is not unusual for MJ Abbott to run several large irrigation system installation projects concurrently, and the 2013 autumn season is no exception with projects starting in Derbyshire, Norfolk and Jersey.

At Chesterfield Golf Club in Derbyshire MJ Abbott will be installing a complete new Toro irrigation system, comprising a new water storage tank, pumphouse, bespoke MJ Abbott pump station, mainlines, laterals, valves, sprinklers and Toro Lynx control system to greens and tees. The work will be supervised by Giles Wardle of Irriplan.

Across the country at Hunstanton Golf Club on the North Norfolk coast, MJ Abbott will be installing an upgrade to the Club's Toro irrigation system, comprising new irrigation to greens, greens surrounds and a selection of new tees, replacing the fairway sprinklers, and installing new borehole water supply pipework. The Club's consultant is Adrian Mortram of Robin Hume Associates.

Rain Bird was selected as the preferred equipment manufacturer by Royal Jersey Golf Club for their new irrigation system. MJ Abbott will be carrying out Phase 2 of a project commenced in January 2013, which saw the company install a new Vulcan water storage tank and new irrigation to the greens and greens surrounds. From late November 2013 until February 2014 MJ Abbott will be installing new borehole water supply pipework, a new bespoke MJ Abbott pump station, new irrigation mainlines, and irrigation to the fairways. Roger Davey of Irritech will be supervising the project on behalf of the Club.
