MJ Abbott helps secure ground water supplies in drought conditions

Low ground water levels have been an increasingly hot topic since the turn of the year, and MJ Abbott has been busy helping customers ensure their water supply is secure.

Rotary drilling rig in action

The current drought conditions in the South and East of England have been in the news again recently, with widely circulated pictures of rivers drying up and reservoirs at historically low levels. Less well known, however, is the effect of the lack of rainfall on ground water levels, which are also at historic lows. This has resulted in many private water supply wells and boreholes running dry.

MJ Abbott has been working hard to secure ground water supplies for a number of customers, and our rotary drilling rig has not stopped turning since early January.

Having now moved on to our fourth successful borehole project in Dorset, we have safeguarded the water supply to three country estates using the rotary rig as well as drilling a new borehole using the percussion rig at a site near Blandford.

If you are worried about your ground water supply, contact us urgently to discuss the options available to you.
