Landscaping to hotel grounds at prestigious Surrey hotel
Following the completion of several successful contracts at The Grove for the owners of The Runnymede Hotel, MJ Abbott were appointed to carry out landscaping works as part of the Hotel’s refurbishment in 2009/10.
The plans and works evolved as the project progressed and encompassed a number of aspects, including;
- Re-grading, cultivation, preparation and seeding of the entire meadow area in front of the hotel, including creation of close mown rye grass paths meandering between tall fescue surrounds
- Excavation of tree pits and filling with topsoil for planting by others following establishment of the grass
- Installation of a timber edged self bound gravel perimeter path providing a walkway around the entire grounds
- The refurbishment of the existing tennis courts, including new perimeter fencing, edging, drainage and new surfacing
- The installation of service ducts, gas pipework and drainage linking various areas of the site
- Levelling, shaping and construction of the orchard area including path network linking back to the perimeter walkway.
