Project summary
New irrigation system for the iconic Dunluce Links
MJ Abbott secured the contract to install a new irrigation system at Royal Portrush Golf Club following a tender and interview process. The irrigation system design and tender process was undertaken by Adrian Mortram.
The scope of work included:
- 690m³ Vulcan water storage tank complete with new borehole transfer pipework
- 125m³/hr pump station designed and fabricated in-house by MJ Abbott
- Installation of mainlines pipework and replacement irrigation to greens, approaches, greens surrounds, fairways, tees and walkways to both the Dunluce Links and the Valley Links
- The system utilises Toro irrigation equipment
- The system includes Toro GDC Site Pro control system, weather station and radio remote control.
MJ Abbott continue to service and maintain the system.
