Trainee Contracts Supervisor

We are recruiting for a full time Trainee Contracts Supervisor to assist the Contracts Director to secure work for the Company and to ensure that all the Company’s projects are carried out to the highest quality and efficiency to meet the programme, specification, budget, and client expectations.

You must possess motivational skills and the desire to ensure that projects are carried out and completed to the highest standards.

You will be a clear thinker who can negotiate with people at all levels, versatile, flexible, highly motivated and have an ability to react positively to changing situations and places. At times you will be required to carry out duties to assist in other areas of the Company’s business.

You may already be working in sports turf management. You could be a recent graduate in surveying or engineering, or you may have some experience in a construction pricing role.

The company is a Gold Member of the 5% Club and committed to continued investment in staff training. Whatever your background, this position will give the chosen candidate the opportunity to gain formal qualifications in surveying, AutoCad, and Health & Safety.

We require you have the following skills and experience:

  • A keen interest in sports is essential and a competency in golf is desirable
  • Computer literate – experienced with Microsoft Office suite, web browsers, email, etc.
  • Familiarity with AutoCad for 2D drafting an advantage but not essential (training will be given)
  • Experience in setting out and basic surveying an advantage but not essential (training will be given)
  • Clear thinking with good organisational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-disciplined to work under pressure, alone or in a team environment, and using own initiative

Your principal responsibilities will include assisting the Contracts Director in the securing, administration and the smooth operation of construction projects.

This role will include some travelling and staying away from home.

You must hold a full UK (or equivalent) driving licence.
