A great opportunity for someone with the right attitude to build a long term career in technical sales.
About the Role
We’re looking for someone with the right attitude and a genuine willingness to learn.
This is an excellent opportunity to build a career with a well established and growing business supplying the water, civil engineering and utility sectors.
You’ll be joining a friendly and experienced team, learning an extensive range of products and helping customers find the right solutions for their projects.
You don’t need to know our products on day one. What matters is your attitude, your willingness to learn, and your work ethic. We’ll provide the training and support to help you build your knowledge over time.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Be the first point of contact for customers by telephone and email.
- Build strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Prepare quotations and process customer orders.
- Follow up quotations and sales enquiries.
- Keep customers informed of order progress and delivery schedules.
- Recommend suitable product alternatives where appropriate.
- Work closely with suppliers and colleagues to resolve customer enquiries.
- Learn our product range and develop your technical knowledge.
- Identify opportunities to grow existing customer accounts.
- Work closely with the wider sales team to deliver excellent customer service.
What We’re Looking For
We’re far more interested in attitude than previous industry experience.
The ideal person will be:
- Ambitious and eager to build a successful career.
- A quick learner who enjoys picking up new skills.
- Positive, reliable and self motivated.
- Confident speaking with customers.
- Organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to prioritise and work effectively in a busy environment.
- A good communicator and team player.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and willing to learn new software.
- Someone who enjoys solving problems and helping customers.
- Keen to build their knowledge and confidence over time.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
Experience
Previous sales or customer service experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
Experience within builders’ merchants, plumbing, civils, construction, engineering, utilities or distribution would be advantageous, although full product training will be provided.
Training & Development
Our product range is extensive and becoming confident takes time.
We’ll provide ongoing product training and support from experienced colleagues to help you build your knowledge and confidence.
If you’re willing to learn and work hard, there are genuine opportunities to develop your career as the business continues to grow.
Why Join Us
You’ll be joining a supportive and experienced team.
From day one, you’ll receive training and the opportunity to learn from colleagues with decades of industry experience. If you’re prepared to learn, work hard and get involved, we’ll invest the time to help you build your knowledge and confidence.
As the business continues to grow, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility and develop your career.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm, 30 minute lunch break
