Agricultural / Plant Mechanic

We are looking to recruit an experienced Agricultural / Plant Mechanic to work with the workshop team to maintain a large fleet of plant and equipment to a professional standard.

Key Skills Required:

• Experienced in the repair and maintenance of heavy plant and construction equipment
• Willing to respond to emergency breakdowns, travel and make on site repairs
• Good organisational skills, conscientious and a willingness to meet deadlines
• Good communications skills
• Confident to deal with company personnel, customers and suppliers
• Full driving licence required

Principal Responsibilities:

• To work with the workshop team to maintain a large fleet of plant and equipment to a professional standard
• To carry out regular servicing on all types of plant and equipment
• To carry out welding and fabrication tasks when required
• To respond to breakdowns promptly and efficiently to aid the smooth running of our site operations
• To assist and train apprentice personnel
• To provide the servicing information required promptly and accurately for the workshop
  administrator to maintain accurate service records
• When necessary, travel to company projects to make on site repairs. This may require occasional and or periodic nights away from home
• To ensure that the workshops and yard areas are maintained in a safe and tidy condition, wash equipment and load and unload plant
• To report defects, avoidable or warranty repairs to the Workshop Manager
• To carry out tasks in a safe and conscientious manner
• You would be required to be flexible and carry out any duties which are reasonably considered to be within your capabilities
