Ashton Court Estate, Long AshtonSeptember 2007 saw the completion of another water supply project, this time for Bristol City Council at the Ashton Court Estate, made famous by the annual Balloon Festival! The existing water supply infrastructure that feed various domestic properties, the deer parks and the balloon festival had been in use for over 50 years and was in serious need of replacement. 1,800 metres of 90mm HPPE was installed using rotary trenching technology.
Peckons Hill Farms, ShaftesburyA complete new water supply installation incorporating a new borehole drilled into the greensands strata below the site. Construction of an 18,000 litre below ground storage reservoir and the installation of over 9 kilometres of distribution pipework. The farm has also been provided with 'mains water' back up supply in the event of borehole pump failure.
Applied Environmental Research Council - WestburyAt the forefront of environmental projects, MJ Abbott Limited has recently undertaken a new contract with AERC. The project involved the creation and development of a lechate absorption system that treats the lechate. It is pumped and collected from a landfill site and is distributed through floating pipework laid in marsh ground where a special plant digests the high levels of lechate before being discharged to a foul drainage network. |
