Construction of mini golf course, cricket square and regraded rugby pitch

The scope of work included for the re-levelling of an existing rugby pitch, construction of short game golf facility and natural cricket square, and installation of a synthetic cricket wicket and golf practice nets. The existing piece of land was an undulating slope. We were able to negotiate the contract following the success of previous works at the school.

MJ Abbott carried out the following scope of works:

  • Removal of vegetation from topsoil layer by the use of Koro Top Maker and tip on site
  • Import and spread 400m³ of topsoil to build up levels of existing undulating rugby pitch
  • Laser grade topsoil to blend with surrounding ground levels
  • Import, spread and ameliorate 400 tonnes of sand into the new surface
  • Creation of 3 no 400m² golf greens and 7 no tees, all with rootzone surfaces, to form a loop of 9 holes of short game golf
  • Design and Installation of primary drainage system to the entire site area including golf greens, fairways areas and the re-graded rugby pitch
  • Design and Installation of fully automatic sprinkler system to golf greens and rugby pitch utilising Rain Bird equipment
  • Installation of new cricket square constructed with 3 layers of cricket loam
  • Installation of synthetic cricket wicket and 2 no golf practice nets.

MJ Abbott continues to support and maintain the irrigation system.
