Ffos Las Racecourse

MJ Abbott Limited have been contracted to install over 30,000 metres of piped drainage and 80000 metres of slit drainage to the oval circuit along with a state of the art irrigation system including an MJ Abbott Packaged Variable Speed/Hydro-Pneumatic Pump Station to provide a maximum duty of 120m³/hr @ 11 bar.

Due to open in 2009 Ffos Las will bring the sport to a population with existing strong links to racing and equestrian activities. The project will also offer a highly attractive lifestyle to visitors and residents who will share over 600 acres of attractive countryside and leisure facilities.

Marriott Sprowston Manor - Norwich

MJ Abbott Limited was contacted by Marriott Sprowston Manor to design and install primary and secondary drainage systems to various areas throughout the golf course.  The installation involved main drainage outfalled to existing ditches, lateral drainage spaced at 8 metre centres and the injection of gravel bands perpendicular to the lateral pipework.  The intensity of the drainage was necessary to cope with the high demands of this prestigious golf course.   

Waterlooville Golf Club

Following several years with drainage issues in many areas of the golf course. Waterlooville Golf Club near Portsmouth invited MJ Abbott Limited to provide recommendations to resolve the problems.

The works lasted for just over a month, and involved the installation of some 8,000 linear metres of drainage pipework. The works have made an instant and dramatic difference to these problem areas, enabling the course to remain open through periods where it would have previously been forced to close.

Thornbury Golf Centre

Following on from successful projects carried out at other courses from the Burhill Group, MJ Abbott Limited carried out the installation of a primary drainage system to the Thornbury Golf Centre driving range which was completed in under a week and enabled the range to be opened on schedule at the end of the maintenance period.
