Thruxton Airfield, Thruxton

A recent project has seen MJ Abbott Limited undertaking a civil engineering contract at Thruxton Airfield.  The war time airfield required the installation of a new lighting circuit around the airstrip to aid the take off and landing of small aircraft.  The existing salt glaze ducting had collapsed over time and new cable duct and cabling was required.  The new installation was trenched through the existing concrete surface using the rotary wheel trencher.

 

 

Ascot Racecourse

Following on from the company’s successful relationship with Ascot Racecourse, we were delighted to be involved with the new works to the grandstand public viewing areas and tented village.  The work was carried out for the main contractor Mcardle over a 4 month period in early 2007, and included for the installation of irrigation, sewer, potable water and drainage.  The works were completed on budget and on time during difficult weather conditions.   

 

Merchant Taylors School

Merchant Taylors’ School - Northwood

MJ Abbott Limited were commissioned by Merchant Taylors' School to install over a mile of 3 phase electric cable around the school grounds and a sub station as part of a major overhaul of the schools electric supply. The installation required careful trenching through access roads, paths, fine turf areas, flower borders and hedges. This work was awarded on the back of our continued good working relationship, which began in 2006 when the company constructed two rugby pitches at the sister, St Johns School in Northwood.
