Groundworks

MJ Abbott Limited employs a number of dedicated teams offering specialist groundworks services such as site preparation, kerbing, sub-base and surfacing works.  We have the necessary Streetworks qualifications for carrying out works in or across the public highway.

Installation of Underground Services

We are able to install underground services by a number of methods utilising our specialist machinery and equipment:  vibrating or non-tension mole ploughs and open trenching by chain trencher, spinning wheel trencher or excavator, depending on the ground conditions and requirements for reinstatement.  For road crossings, we have an impact moling machine which enables installation of a duct for pipes or cables without disturbing the road surface.

Excavator and Plant Hire

We have a number of excavators for hire with highly skilled operators, fitted with powertilt and Engcon swivel attachments for specialist ditching and shaping work.  Other items of specialist plant are available for hire by arrangement.
